King's Lynn Town goalkeeper receives Scotland call-up

King’s Lynn Town’s on-loan goalkeeper, Archie Mair , has been called up to Scotland’s Under-21 squad.

The 19-year-old, who joined the Walks outfit on a season-long loan from Norwich City last month, has been named in the party for a European Championship qualifier against Lithuania next month.

Manager Scot Gemmill called on Mair, who has already been capped six times at Under-19 level, on Wednesday, after Livingston’s Robby McCrorie was named in the senior squad for their Nations League matches with Israel and the Czech Republic.

The Under-21 fixture takes place in the Lithuanian capital, Vilinius on September 8.

News of the call-up followed Lynn’s first win of their pre-season schedule last night.

A late Ryan Hawkins goal gave them a 1-0 victory away at AFC Rushden and Diamonds.

Linnets fans were able to attend the match, having been asked to stay away from their pre-season opener at Stowmarket.
