King's Lynn Town sign prolific striker Marriott
King's Lynn Town have swooped for Boston United frontman Adam Marriott.
The capture of Marriott on a two-year deal represents a real coup for the Linnets.
Marriott, who played with current Linnets favourite Michael Gash at Cambridge United, becomes the second signing for Lynn's management team of Neil Fryatt and Robbie Back.
The 27-year-old has been snapped up hot on the heels of Chris Henderson's arrival from Lowestoft Town after having his contract cancelled by the Pilgrims.
Delighted joint boss Back said: "Adam's goalscoring record in the game speaks for itself.
"Over the last couple of games we have missed a load of chances and it was obvious that we needed a player who can put the ball in the back of the net.
"Neil (Fryatt) and myself have been tracking Adam at Boston United the last few weeks and we are delighted that he has signed a two-year deal with us.
"As well as being a proven goalscorer, he has also played in the pro game so is another good player to bring into the group. He also played with Gashy at Cambridge United, so that's another advantage for us."
The former Lincoln City and Stevenage striker attracted interest from Football League and National League clubs over this summer and Lynn beat a couple of clubs to his signature.
Marriott spent the 2016/17 season with Lincoln, famously setting up Nathan Arnold’s winning goal in their FA Cup replay victory over Ipswich.
However, Marriott was predominantly used off the bench by City boss Danny Cowley.
He left Sincil Bank at the end of the campaign and dropped down the non-league ladder to join Southern League side Royston Town, scoring 31 goals last season, one of which game against the Linnets in a 2-0 defeat at Garden Walk.
