West Norfolk youngster will represent county under-14 side
A Lynn youngster has been selected to represent her county at cricket this season.
Phoenix Sherry, a pupil at Wisbech Grammar School, has been picked for Norfolk under-14s.
The full list of players is: Jemima Mitchell (Cambs Girls under-11), from Wisbech; William Gowler (Cambs U17), March; Joshua Porter (Cambs U17), Wisbech; Hannah Smith (Cambs Girls U15), Wisbech; George Gowler (Cambs U15), March; Ross Gardner (Cambs U14), Wisbech; Adam Gardner (Cambs U12), Wisbech; Phoenix Sherry (Norfolk U14), King’s Lynn.
Head of cricket, Neil Taylor, said he is very proud of the pupils’ achievements.
He said: “All of the pupils have worked hard to improve their cricketing skills over the past year and thoroughly deserve the accolade of being selected to represent their respective counties.
“We wish them all success and hope they enjoy their school and county cricket in the upcoming season.
“Thank you to our fantastic school cricket staff for their support and guidance.
“Wisbech Grammar School provides a robust cricket programme for boys and girls and this season we will be running 20 teams playing more than 200 fixtures; from U9 through to 1st XI for boys and girls.”
