King's Lynn Town Ladies celebrate their first season in the Eastern Region Women’s League Premier Division

With the 2021/22 season an all but a distant memory, and preparation underway for the coming campaign, King’s Lynn Town Ladies came together to celebrate their inaugural season in the Eastern Region Women’s League Premier Division.

The team played 20 games during the league season, winning seven, drawing seven and losing six of their matches.

The evening was presented by manager Alex Cook and the club's vice-captain Jodie Hopkins.

Cook, who came to the team at the Christmas break, gave thanks to the various individuals who had aided him and thanked the squad as a whole 'for taking him on-board' and making him feel welcome from the start of his tenure.

Several presentations were made to players and staff throughout the evening and they were as follows.

Player awards went to: Ellie Prentice – Suiter Construction Limited Most Improved Player; Amy Magnus and Tiffany Forshaw – Suiter Construction Limited Golden Boot (joint award - nine goals each); Jodie Hopkins – Suiter Construction Limited Supporters Player of the Year; Fran Peeling - Suiter Construction Limited Managers Player of the Year; Lily Porter - Suiter Construction Limited Player’s Player of the Year.

The team also presented the following individuals with a gift for their contributions: Jodie Hopkins - for contribution both on and off the pitch, Alex Cook – manager, Pete Prentice – driver, linesman and general assistance, Giuseppe Emma – goalkeeping coach, Rich Brown – photography and media duties, Jason Gant – head steward, Norman Cesar – FA and league administration, kitman.

Cook commented: "I am proud of the season we have just had and excited to see where the new season will take us.

"We have laid a good foundation and will need to build upon it for the up and coming season."

Pre-season training commences with an open session on Thursday, June 23, from 6.30-8.30pm with further sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at KES High School.

To compliment the pre-season, there will be several fixtures ahead of the ERWFL league start.

Dates to be confirmed in due course but the first fixture will be against Thetford Town Ladies on Sunday, July 3, at Alive Lynnsport.
