King's Lynn Town have shown their intent ahead of the 2021/22 National League campaign by announcing midfielder Ethan Coleman as their first signing for next season.

The Linnets have seen off the intentions of several clubs, including the likes of Lincoln City, Forest Green Rovers, Aldershot and Boreham Wood to secure the services of Coleman on a two-year deal.

The impressive midfielder, who joined Lynn on loan from Brackley Town in March, turned in a string of magnificent displays during a brief spell at The Walks earlier this season.

Manager Ian Culverhouse expects all of his players to be comfortable on the ball and Coleman fits the bill perfectly.

The youngster showed excellent technique and great athleticism in his first spell with the club, where he played nine times.

He became an integral cog in the middle of the park for Lynn after helping their cause in the financial crisis by playing for little personal gain.

The 21-year-old last featured for the club when they hosted Maidenhead United earlier this month.

Lynn are believed to have paid a small fee to Brackley Town after Coleman's contract with the National League North side expired on May 1.

Director of Football Rob Back said: “We are delighted that Ethan has decided to join us. I know everyone at the club and the supporters wanted us to sign him.

"He had some very good performances whilst he was here on loan, so we were always keen to do a deal. "It’s also great to encouraging that several other National League clubs were after his signature, therefore we are pleased he has chosen to further his career with King’s Lynn Town.”

Coleman progressed through the youth teams at Reading to Under 23 level having joined the Championship outfit at the age of nine.

He was released in July 2020 and joined Brackley Town two months later for whom he made 22 appearances, scoring once.
