Leaders King's Lynn let three-goal lead slip at Chester
King's Lynn Town seem set on producing their own Goal of the Season competition in the National League North – but let a three-goal lead slip at the Deva Stadium in a dramtic 3-3 draw this afternoon.
Midfielder Theo Widdrington scored a stunning effort from the halfway line in the opening few minutes after Gold Omotayo had put the Linnets ahead from the penalty spot a minute earlier.
Jordan Ponticelli made it 3-0 just before the interval before Lynn collapsed in the second half.
Chester began their fightback with a goal two minutes after the break from Iwan Murray.
The hosts added a second on 78 minutes through Danny Devine before Kurt Willoughby sealed an incredible comeback four minutes from time.
The Linnets remain top of National League North, but by only a point from Banbury United, who came from behind to beat Southport 3-1 at home.
