King's Lynn Town drawn away to Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup first round proper
King's Lynn Town will face league opposition in the First Round Proper of the FA Cup for a third successive season.
The Linnets have been drawn away to League Two Doncaster Rovers who recently sacked manager Gary McSheffrey, with the club 12th in League Two.
McSheffrey, 40, was dismissed after a run of seven points from eight games for Donny who play at the Keepmoat Stadium.
The draw for the world's oldest football competition was conducted live on BBC Two this evening at Step 3 Alvechurch.
National League North leaders Lynn have negotiated three qualifying rounds to reach this stage, seeing off Bedford Town 3-0 after a replay and league rivals Kettering Town 6-1 at The Walks.
On Saturday, they defeated Ashington 3-1 in front of more than 1700 fans as they reached this stage of the competition for a third successive season.
Last season they lost 1-0 at home to fourth Walsall in Round One.
In the Covid-hit season of 2020/21, they defeated League Two Port Vale 1-0 at the first hurdle before succumbing 6-1 to League One Portsmouth in the Second Round with no fans allowed at either tie
The first round proper will be held between Friday 5 and Monday, November 8, with winning clubs pocketing £41,000 from the competition prize fund.
Lynn have already picked up £18,375 for their progress so far.
