King's Lynn Town's home National League match with Notts County today has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

The decision was made today at 2pm.

Referee David Richardson had looked at The Walks pitch at 1.30pm and gave it another half-hour but the dismal Boxing Day weather just saw more rain fall on an already sodden pitch.

Some 700 away supporters were expected to be at the game and many had arrived by the time the match was postponed.

It is the second successive season that the Linnets have lost the Boxing Day clash against the Magpies after last year's meeting between the two sides was postponed due to Covid in the home camp.

Five other games have been postponed in the National League today, with Covid claiming several other fixtures.
