The extreme weather has forced King's Lynn Town to delay their pre-season friendly at home to Peterborough United.

Lynn were due to host the League One outfit at The Walks tomorrow night (Tuesday).

But with temperatures forecast to hit record highs across West Norfolk, the fixture has been postponed for 24 hours and will now be played on Wednesday evening.

A statement on Lynn's Twitter feed a short while ago said: "Due to the forecasted extreme weather scheduled for Tuesday 19 July King’s Lynn Town and @theposh have agreed to move their friendly fixture to Wednesday 20 July. Kicking off at 7.30pm."

Posh announced on Sunday that their under-21s game against Stamford, also scheduled for Tuesday night, was off.
