King’s Lynn fighters step into the ring on Essex show
King's Lynn Youth Boxing Club had two bright talents in action on a show at Hockley in Essex.
Both youngsters stepped into the ring to showcase their skill, determination, and heart.
First up was rising star Albie Mallett, who faced off against the tough and talented Kurtis Samuel.
From the opening bell, both boys came out with high energy, trading punches from all angles in a fast-paced and competitive first round.
After a close start, Mallett returned to his corner, listened closely to his coaches, and came out with a clever new strategy.
Using his sharp counter-punching, Mallett began to control the pace of the fight.
Each time the home fighter launched an attack, Mallett answered with precise counters that began to turn the tide in his favour.
As the rounds progressed, it was clear the visiting boxer's timing and tactical thinking had given him the edge.
He closed out the final round strong, earning himself yet another impressive win to add to his growing record.
Next into the ring was Clay Tansley, who took on Henry Seaton from Hockley in a skills bout.
For both 10-year-olds, it was their first time performing in front of a crowded hall, and they rose to the occasion with remarkable composure.
Although no official winner was declared, as is customary in skills bouts, Clay’s performance stood out.
Displaying excellent listening skills and taking on instructions mid-fight, Clay impressed coaches Richard Girdlestone and Mel Payne with his ability to stay focused and enjoy the experience.
Coming from a proud boxing lineage, Clay is continuing the family tradition, following in the footsteps of his father, Wesley Tansley, and relative Ben Tansley, both of whom also boxed under the guidance of his current coaches.
