King’s Lynn driver to line-up in TCR UK Touring Car Championship in 2024

Lynn race ace Ryan Bensley will make his bow in the TCR UK Touring Car Championship this season.

Bensley, who has been a race winner and title contender in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup in previous seasons, makes the move to Touring Car racing with the same team he drove for last year.

Competing for Pro Alloys Racing, he will find himself at the wheel of a Lynk & Co 03 TCR.

An excited Bensley, whose driver coach is British Touring Car star Josh Cook, said: “To be racing in a touring car is something I have always wanted to do, but to also represent a winning pedigree in Lynk and Co is an opportunity I can’t wait to grab.

"I know it will be tough but I have the team behind me to have success in the championship, so I will be working hard to get to the sharp end this year.

“My time in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup has proven to be a great platform for me and staying with Pro Alloys Racing, who warrant success at a higher level, cements my view that it’s one of the toughest championships in the UK as I have always said.”

The Milltek Sport Civic Cup itself is one of two official feeder series to TCR UK, with previous drivers such as Alistair Camp, Jamie Tonks and Bruce Winfield making the step up to the Touring Car Championship and taking race victories themselves.

The car itself has recently competed in the TCR Europe Touring Car Series last season, with young driver Viktor Andersson taking two pole positions and a podium finish at the end of the year in the Regional TCR Series.

Set to make his debut in the fastest-growing, most accessible, national multi-marque championship in the UK, Bensley is eager to get the season underway at Brands Hatch on April 13-14, using the exciting Indy circuit.

The championship has already announced its Season Launch Day, which is taking place on the Snetterton 300 circuit on Thursday March 28, offering the public the first chance to see the Pro Alloys run Lynk & Co TCR cars in action and up close.

TCR UK Championship promoter Stewart Lines is excited to see how Ryan and the Lynk & Co perform this year.

Lines said: “It’s nice to see the progression that the TCR package is offering to drivers like Ryan Bensley, who was a previous front-runner in the Milltek Sport Civic Cup.

"Ryan is a very talented driver in a race car and I’m certain that he will enjoy great success in the Lynk & Co 03 TCR this year.”
