King’s Lynn drivers make a good start to the new stock car season

West Norfolk drivers were heavily involved in the action at Lynn on Saturday.

Sam Hildon made a massive effort in the national bangers racing both the 2L bangers and the 1600cc formats.

Unfortunately, things didn’t get off to the best of start in the 1600cc bangers when he performed a massive rollover on the opening lap of the first race.

Undeterred, Hildon pushed on to put in some good performances in the 2L banger and his team even got the 1600cc banger back out which he also managed to get in the places.

Troy Cobbett was also in action in both formulas with his best points haul coming in the 1600cc bangers

Other local drivers in action in the 1600cc bangers who will have been pleased with their displays include Ben Cox, Alex Smith, Kieran Weston and Warren Collings.

Kieran Bowman scored a decent entertainer points haul in the 2L bangers as he battled with the Midlands-based Scrapyard Screamers and Jon Cooper also put in a great performance to win himself an entertainer award whilst Ashley Garrod and Jack Bailey were also in the middle of the action.

Jack Garrod Jnr made his first appearance in the junior bangers after almost a year out and took a fantastic victory in his first heat.

Daisy Reynolds won her first-ever trophy in the formula with a third-place finish in one of her races whilst Morgan Bailey secured a runner-up finish in his opening race.

William Cartwright also went very well all night in the juniors.

Garry Lusher was back out in the 1300 stock cars and was back in the points with a strong fourth-place finish in his first heat.

There is a big weekend of racing coming up on Saturday (5pm) and Monday (1pm).
