King's Lynn confirm two of their riders for 2022 Premiership season
King’s Lynn Stars confirmed number one Richard Lawson and dashing Dane Thomas Jorgensen will return for the 2022 Premiership season.
Lynn made the announcement, relayed by co-promoter Dale Allitt and team boss Alex Brady, during the Heat 10 interval at home to Sheffield tonight on the Adrian Flux Arena centre-’green’ concrete and a healthy crowd gave the returning duo (Lawson was absent injured) a warm round of applause.
Both riders have been shining lights during a tough season with Lynn rooted to the foot of the table.
Club supremo Keith Chapman vented his feelings and threatened to sell King’s Lynn and Peterborough as the Stars were forced to postpone the previous outing of this speedway home meeting on August 19 due to rain.
Allitt also said in his programme notes: “Despite what Buster said here the last time we tried to race Sheffield, we are secure and we will be back. Buster likes to spend time away enjoying some relaxing time and that’s why he has asked me to be more involved.
“He wants the club to run itself which I’m sure can work well going forward. I know there were concerned fans when he made that outburst (as reported in the Lynn News) on the microphone but he was perfectly entitled to do so, we all know how passionate he is."
Looking forward to 2022, Allitt added: “It’s no secret that we are already looking towards next year and have been for some weeks now.
“We all want a more normal season with no restrictions and we will be determined to make it a success.
“The Supporters Club are the envy of many, our fans have stayed with us throughout the tough times and we thank everyone for that. Our intention is to give you more to cheer about in 2022.”
