King’s Lynn Stars rider Lewis Kerr revealed he is owed £4,000 by second club Eastbourne Eagles who closed down in August, citing financial problems.

The second-tier Championship south coast speedway side postponed their home fixture against Redcar – ironically the club Kerr later joined – and shortly afterwards on August 18 a club statement said: “We are working with the BSPL (British Speedway Promoters Limited) and the SCB (Speedway Control Bureau).

“We are working hard to ensure that late and overdue payments are fulfilled as soon as possible and to secure the immediate future to get us to the end of the 2021 season and hopefully beyond.
