The breakthrough came for Lynn after Alexander Hanzslick, pressing tirelessly from the front with Lennox Oltai, won the ball high up and smashed home from close range.

A brilliant save from goalkeeper Arthur Pike, diving to his right, kept Lynn 1-0 up going into half-time.

As Soham pressed for the equaliser in the second half, Rupert Oselton capped a flawless captain's performance with a sharp counter, skating the length of the rink to square a pass to Hanzslick, who rounded the keeper brilliantly.

Zachary Rawlinson defended the box intelligently, marking the spare player and Pike had to be in top form with some outstanding saves to see the match out 2-0.

The less experienced Soham Light Blues were next and Lynn ran out 9-0 winners.

Ella King was unlucky not to add to the tally as her effort looked to cross the line.

The team goal of the day came when King played the ball out of trouble to Oselton, he squared the ball across the rink to Oltai, whose brilliant first-time pass found Hanzslick and he finished smartly.

Oltai added a goal of his own before Hanzslick went on to complete a hat-trick.

Oselton helped himself to five goals in another fine display.

In their last outing, a double hat-trick from Hanzslick put the game beyond a battling Letchworth Blues' reach.

Lynn conceded the only goal of the day after a swift counter from Letchworth.

Oltai grabbed himself a goal after fine work from Finley Paton, working hard and passing the ball well down the side, the match ending 7-1 to Lynn.

A hard-working round of matches puts Lynn’s young guns in pole position.
