Only a final-wicket stand of 64 restored some pride before Brockman-Smith finished the innings by trapping Malayalees top scorer Raymond Symon lbw to complete an 80-run win.

Home captain Calum Crome-Russell was one of the wickets to fall to Clarke who grabbed 8-6-4-4 and sent the first three batsmen back to the pavilion at the David Lindley Memorial Field.

Ben Harris pouched four catches before completing a good all-round display by guiding Thornham home to their 100 target with plenty of time to spare in this friendly.

Karthik Sankar removed both away openers but Christopher ‘Alf’ Burgess top-scored with 34 and notched the bulk of the runs needed with Harris.
