Renegade Runners teenager makes debut in half marathon
There was a half marathon debutant during a very busy weekend for Renegades Runners.
Youngster Mitchell Bunn, 17, enjoyed a fine debut with a time of 1.27.55 at the Long Sutton 10k and half marathon.
Other debutants at the distance were Dan North 1.58.05 and Clive Woolnough 2.18.13.
In the 10k set in very windy and wet conditions, Andy Doyle was first back for the team in 45.33 to finish in 13th.
Chris Levy was close behind in 16th with 46.11, Steve Collis clocked 49.11, Nick Mackay 49.19 and Mark Moden 51.48 and all competed well in their respective age groups.
Janet Foxwell was pleased to back racing finishing in 68.01.
For the ladies, Heidi Bunn ran well in 1.53.19.
Cat Tipling ran a 15 minute pb in 2.15.22, Rebecca Baker 2.21.10 and Claire Gayton was extremely grateful to the Renegade race makers and supporters finishing in 2.33.32.
At the third Oundle 20 mile race, Bernie Lee ran a five-minute personal best in 2.57.42 and Louise Franklin completed her long distance medley of late finishing in 3.22.17.
At the Coltishall 10k on a former airfield, Thomas Elsdon started the ball rolling in the junior 2k, running a course personal best of 8.15.
Dad Darren ran a pb of 50.59 despite the conditions, while Linus Marray-Woods 53.01, Alan Dix 56.35 and Steve Farquhar 57.25 all recorded respectable times in competitive action.
Sarah Fisher Continued her post injury improvements with 1.12.42.
At the Beowulf trail 10k involving lots of sand, Sarah Kimberley still performed well with a time of 57.26.
Sam Laws had an enjoyable run on the Saturday at the Wolverhampton trail half marathon.
