Downham Town Cricket Club’s Annual President’s Golf Day was this year hosted by Ryston Park Golf Club.
Twelve teams of four consisting of sponsors, ex-players and supporters enjoyed a great day’s golf in excellent weather.
The morning nine-hole competition was won, after a count-back between three players, by ex-cricketing all-rounder, Colin Dye. Second was Stuart Rust, another cricketing stalwart from Downham Town.
In the afternoon, the 18 hole event was won by a team from the east of the region sponsored by Lenwade Electricals. Runners-up were the ‘Presidents Party’.
Other winners were, nearest the pin: Malcolm Martin; straightest drive: Gary Groom. Yellow Ball team competition went to a team named ‘The Old Norfolk Boys’.
The Cricket Club’s president, Don Rowell, gave personal thanks to all the sponsors, supporters and Ryston Park on presenting the golf course in its usual excellent condition and his team of helpers for their work on the day.
Thanks and compliments also went to Tonya and her team from Classic Catering for providing the food for all.
