Well-known local kickboxing coach Dell Mann is co-organising a target of six massive shows next year in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support nurses.

Venues include a giant marquee and a circus big top, and the organisers from N&M Promotions have already signed up international fighters from Morocco and Australia as well as a Sky Sports ‘MC’.

Many local businesses have already come forward to help sponsor the first event which will see several local fighters on show.

Mann, who is an instructor at the Lynn Cobra Academy Kickboxing Gym, explained: “The families of both myself and my business partner (Mark Norris) have been affected by cancer.

“My wife is a nurse at the Swaffham Cottage Hospital. It’s just snowballing. One sponsor has already given £1,200.

“Everything we make after expenses will be put into the Macmillan fund.”

The first confirmed event will be at Wisbech Town FC – dubbed the Fenmen Fight Night – under a giant marquee on May 30, 2015.

Six-hundred seats are priced at £25, while VIP seating for 100 costs £50.

Mann was overjoyed when he approached the Mr Fips Wonder Circus, which has recently performed at Knight’s Hill in Lynn, for use of their ‘big top’.

The Wonder Circus agreed to the request, and a show under the circus tent will take place next September on a Saturday between the two weeks of the Mr Fips shows.

Special features of this unique event in West Norfolk will be clowns bringing the fighters out, trapeze artists and a lion cage being used as an MMA (mixed martial arts) cage!

There will also be a tuxedo dinner show at the Queen Mary Centre in Wisbech, with that and other dates in 2015 to be confirmed.

The Fenmen Fight Night features a World Professional WRSA (World Ring Sports Association) full contact kickboxing title bout between England and Morocco.

Other highlights of the night include England v Scotland v Wales; and appearances from Aussie sensation Blaine Molony, Cobra Gym fighter Carrie Beckerson and full-contact kickboxer Liam Wells (18).

Mann enthused of Wells: “He is the best full-contact kickboxer England has ever-produced. He was involved in the best fight I’ve ever seen.”

Also signed up are Sky Sports MC Ricky Wright and the ringside commentary is from Malcolm Martin of Eurosport TV.

Some of the sponsors confirmed so far are: Elm Croft Turf Care of Lynn, Curzon (Lynn), H2O Nightclub (Wisbech) Darren McCarthy, Wisbech Trophy Centre, EE Phone shop Simon Carter (Lynn), Double G Clothing Gordon Chilvers (Lynn), Cafe Roasta (Lynn), A J Hodgson and Sons Engineering (Lynn), Kings of the Rings Apparel, Pyramid Home Improvements (Spalding), Rose and Crown Hotel (Wisbech) Mr Jim Farrelly, S&W Engineering March, Holiday With Us March & Wisbech, Banks Barbers shop Wisbech and Dan Redman Plumbers (Lynn).
