Lynn’s Carl Breeze is refusing to rest on his laurels going into the lastest round of action at the Oulton Park Island Circuit this weekend.
Breeze holds a 34-point lead at the top of the Ginetta GT4 Supercup standings, but wants to extend that lead even further with the summer lay-off on the horizon.
“It would be nice to get some good results and go into the break with the championship lead,” admitted Breeze.
“I’m determined to try to carry on my good form until the end of the season. My two wins at Thruxton really put the pressure on the drivers around me.
“I’m almost a whole race win ahead in terms of points but I want to keep pushing on from here.”
After Oulton Park, the HHC Motorsport ace will travel to the Croft Circuit at the end of this month before a six-week break in action.
Breeze firmly believes the challenge for the Ginette G4 Supercup crown will come from within his own team.
“I’m pretty certain my main two challengers for the title will come from either Jamie Orton or Will Burns,” said Breeze.
“Jamie has already won three races this season, like myself, while Will already has six podiums.
“I have the championship lead but we are currently one-two-three in the team championship, too.”
Breeze, who had testing at his home circuit of Snetterton last week, has mixed memories of Oulton Park, having sustained a bad injury there back in 2009.
“It was a really nasty incident. I was still suffering concussion a couple of weeks later because of the big impact and my right foot got crushed in the pedal box,” said Breeze.
“I was pleased to go back there the following year and get two race wins. It’s a difficult circuit but one I’ve done well on in the past.”
Qualifying and one race will take place on Saturday, before a second outing early on Sunday at 2.10pm.
You can follow Breeze’s progress and watch him in action on ITV 4 on Sunday.
Breeze thanks Bluechip, HHC Motorsport, Holbon Photography, Mr Snippers, Forma Exercise and Fitness, Graham and Leigh and @GPlummerMedia for their continued support.
