Bury Ladies secured a crucial win in their quest for promotion from Division Two North-East of the East Women’s League.

Rob Shone in the Bury goal made a fine diving save to ensure Bury reached half time leading 2-1 after goals from Richard Peck and Dom Kavanagh – returning to hockey after a nine-month enforced injury lay-off.
The points were secured shortly after half-time with two quick goals from Bury – the second a fine reverse hit from the top of the D by Kavanagh.
Michael Thompson (2), Paul Lawrence (2), Tim Thompson and Harry Gale were all on target as Bury III defeated Watton 6-2.
Bury IV’s boosted their survival hopes with a 4-3 victory at Dereham.
Dereham took control to go 3-1 up by a stirring comeback ended with Alex Jones scoring a decisive winner.
