It has been a busy week for the Lynn-based Kuk Sool Won School with several students making the grade.

Last week, 18 Lil Dragons, aged between 4 and 6, tested for their next stripes and class.

The youngsters had to demonstrate how to listen to instructions and being able to control their bodies.

They performed martial art kicks, empty hand forms and some self-defence techniques.

Forty-nine junior students held a beginners testing week for white and yellow belts, an Intermediate testing for blue to red belts and an advanced testing for brown belts to black belt candidates.

All students had to demonstrate empty hand forms with some having five to perform, as well as up to 45 different self-defence techniques.

Eleven adult members braved the weekend heat to test for their next belts.

The school’s instructors were proud of all the effort given by all the students and are very keen to start teaching these successful members their new syllabus for their next grading.

The promotion day was fantastic with parents watching their sons and daughters demonstrating some of their martial art skills before getting presented with their new belts. The day ended with a celebration barbecue.

Anyone interested in Kuk Sool Won can come and take two free introductory lessons and a free class.
