Champions clash in big King’s Lynn F1 Stock Car season opener

Big league Stock Car racing makes its 2017 debut in the East of England tomorrow (5.30pm) at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena when the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars roll back into town.

Norwich superstar Matt Newson will be back looking to continue where he left off from last season when he won the meeting final at the last Lynn meeting.

He will have it all to do on Saturday with a big field of cars being expected with most of the sport’s top drivers booked to make an appearance, led by World Champion Frankie Wainman (Keighley) and big hitters Tom Harris (Banbury) and Mick Sworder (St Neots).

A massive entry of over 75 F2 Stock Cars are also booked in to race. World Champion Wim Petters (Netherlands) will be making his first UK appearance in 2017 and he heads a very strong challenge numbering double figures from mainland Europe.

National Points Champion Gordon Moodie (Fife) heads the challenge from North of the Border whilst Scott Aldridge (Lynn) and Bradley Blyth (Wisbech) will head the local challenge.

l 2L Stock Car World Champion Simon Welton (Norwich) continued his great run at Lynn taking a hat-trick of victories including the meeting final which was his second on the trot at Lynn after he won the Clive Grief Memorial at the beginning of the month.

The Banger Final was won on the final bend by Saffron Walden’s Lee White whilst Danielle Ellis won the Lady Banger Final.
