Pre-season training for the senior section at West Norfolk RUFC is now in full swing every Tuesday and Thursday at their Gatehouse Lane, North Wootton, clubhouse.

Having had a successful campaign last season, where the first team squad narrowly missed out on a double promotion by finishing third in London 3 North East, the club are keen to continue their momentum under the leadership of new club captain Jamie Williamson.

Team manager Nigel Richardson said: “We have a group of specialist coaches on hand during each session so there will be options available for players to choose how they want to train personally.

“So you can play some touch rugby, look to develop game skills or focus on fitness work. Training commences from 6.30pm until 8.30pm and players of any experience, old and new, are welcome.

“In a drive to create a smoother transition for youth players into senior rugby, we are also encouraging members from the colts to join us.

“In addition, we have had a new under-24’s sevens squad taking part in various local competitions over the summer.

“This has proved to be a great way to introduce some of the younger lads into the senior set-up.”
