Amy Cubitt (14) has again been selected to represent Norfolk at girls’ age group cricket.
As this season approaches the West Winch teenager has been picked for Norfolk under 15’s again which will hopefully include some U17 and maybe even Norfolk Ladies .
The King’s Lynn Academy pupil Year 10 has also been selected for the Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation West Norfolk Hub, which is an U15 mixed squad for West Norfolk Schools. The team is one of 28 hubs set up across the UK and the only one in East Anglia. Amy is the only female in the squad .
She is currently training hard with coaching every Wednesday with the MCCF WN Hub team, plus Norfolk coaching once a month at Taverham Hall School.
She also attends extra coaching classes with Red Mist Cricket School every fortnight also at Taverham. Then if there is time Amy has the opportunity to net with North Runcton every Saturday.
Her parents Michael and Tracey Cubitt said: “We are very proud of Amy’s commitment and achievements so far and wish her the best of luck for the new season.
“We would also like to thank both sets of grandparents, Abbie her sister and sponsors from previous seasons, Setch MOT Centre, T.J.Cockroft Ltd and D.P Cycles for their support.”
Three years ago she was selected for Norfolk under 13 girls. Last season she was selected for the county U15 squad playing Huntingdonshire, Cambs, Suffolk, Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. She also was given the opportunity to play four games for the U17 ladies.
Fakenham Ladies won the league this season, Amy scoring a valuable 22 runs to beat Garboldisham. For Stow she played U14 and 16 mixed age groups and was leading wicket taker in both age groups.
