West Norfolk Rowing Club continues to gain momentum, with members entering into the Alton Spring Head series.
The club entered two boats into the morning races including, for the first time in the club’s short history, a junior entry. A coxed quad entered into the 3200m course as a Masters crew and a single was entered into the women’s Junior under 18s 2200m course.
Conditions were a little choppy and certainly a lot more sporting than West Norfolk are used to given the idyllic conditions at home on the Great Ouse. But all stepped up to the challenge putting in good performances.
The novice crew in the 4x+ battled the elements well to achieve a respectable 13:37. Their J18 entry Imogen, put in a gutsy performance, drawing praise from fellow rowers, for a highly commendable 7:55, taking first place in her category and demonstrating a good deal of potential.
WNRC is a fast growing social and sports club based at Denver Sluice. They are always looking for new members, both seasoned rowers and complete beginners.
