Malcolm Doughty carried out his final function as 2015 Middleton Hall Golf Club seniors captain with the customary role of handing over a cheque to the charity he supported during his year as captain.

The Lynn branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society were the beneficiaries with Catherine Fielding (chairperson) accepting a cheque for £950. Doughty had also arranged a golf day and raffle at the golf club, raising £200 earlier in the year.

Don Wells (MS transport officer and fellow committee member) said some of the money would probably be used to purchase an electronic muscle stimulator to aid a MS sufferer to lift their toes and prevent tripping.
