This weekend saw many Three Counties RC members out running at the ever-popular nationwide Parkruns on Saturday morning.

On Sunday, four other members, along with a bunch of supporters, ran the Run Norwich 10K.

The race, organised by Norwich City FC Community Sports Foundation (CSF), took in some of Norwich’s most iconic landmarks.

The main reason for running the event was Esme Whitelam, who ran to raise money for Sarcoma UK cancer charity in memory of a family friend.

Not a natural runner, often suffering with shin splints and breathing problems and never really running more than 5K, this was a monumental challenge for her.

Having raised £350 for her charity she completed the race in 1:33:09 in the heat alongside fellow Three Counties members Karen Smith, Wendy Paynter and dad, Steve Whitelam.

Lynn 5K Parkrun: Joseph Hammond – 24:54, Anthony Betts – 27:10 (PB), James Hammond – 31:11, Frances Salter – 31:24. Wimpole 5K Parkrun, Cambridgeshire: Colin Simpson – 23:26. Run Norwich 10K: Esme Whitelam – 1:33:09 (PB), Karen Smith – 1:33:12, Wendy Paynter – 1:33:12, Steve Whitelam – 1:33:13.
