Lynn’s King Edward VII (KES) Academy U15 Girls were crowned Norfolk Emerging Schools Hockey Cup winners at UEA Norwich on Monday.

This is a new competition from England Hockey designed to get more schools involved in the sport following the success of the national teams – the Olympic gold-winning women, of course, being coached by ex-Pelican Danny Kerry.

Thanks to Norfolk Hockey for organising.

l The Pelicans Girls Development and Ladies 3rds’ squads finished the season in style with an inter club tournament in the blazing sunshine.

The teams put on a great display of hockey and will now look forward to the start of a new season when many of the younger players will be stepping up to adult teams.

l After a lot of work behind the scenes the Pelicans club have finally set up a ‘satellite club’ at Lynn’s Springwood High School.

The sessions will be run by Andrea Glover after school. The first one started on Wednesday from 3.30-5pm.

Pelicans would like to introduce a “bring a buddy scheme” to the club to encourage new players to the sport rather than another training session for those already playing for us so watch this space for more details on that.

Hopefully this will help to raise the profile of hockey at the school and also introduce new members to Pelicans.
