An afternoon of festive fun featuring stock car and banger racing takes place at Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena on Bank Holiday Monday, December 28 (1pm).
The popular Micro Bangers top the bill with a 120-car entry for their annual three-a-side team championship, with support coming from two classes of stock cars.
The locally-based Team Jackpot will start among the favourites for Micro Banger success. Winners two years ago and runners-up last year, the Swaffham squad’s ‘A’ team is crewed by brothers Terry, Ashley and Jack Garrod. Ricky and Charlie Garrod will also be in action for the ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams.
The successful Team Bash outfit includes top Lynn locals Darren and Ian Fendley, plus Karl Thorpe and Dersingham favourite Sam Coote among its three entries.
Hometown driver Wes Freestone will represent Team Mates, while the nationally renowned Predators include Lynn drivers Kieran Bowman and Robert Betts in their line-up.
The hard-hitting Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars include Lynn’s own British Champion, Lee Sampson, among their ranks, alongside the winner of the Driver of the Year title, Heacham’s Willie Skoyles Jr, plus Lynn livewire, Dwayne Powell.
This out-of-season event offers the chance for new drivers to try out the formula, with several stepping up from 1300cc Stock Cars and Bangers among the entry.
There will also be a special ladies race, featuring the regular racers’ wives, girlfriends and sisters, plus drivers with experience in Lady Bangers and Ministox graduates, all out to have fun in the big rear-wheel drive machinery.
1300cc Stock Cars complete the bill. Hometown brothers Austen and Ryley Freestone will be aiming to score success at the Saddlebow Road track and uphold local honour against the hordes of Wisbech drivers that populate this formula. The packed grids will serve up plenty of entertainment to blow away the winter cobwebs.
