Seniors Barnard Trophy

Following narrow away victories at Hunstanton and Eagles, King’s Lynn Golf Club was drawn at home on July 6 against Richmond Park GC in the Norfolk County Barnard Trophy, writes Lynn vice-captain, Blair Rule.

The course was in great condition and all four Lynn pairs played superb golf to win by the outstanding margin of 17 holes up.

The result means that the club has now reached the semi finals of the competition and will play Bawburgh GC at the neutral ground of Dunston Hall in Norwich on August 3. Should the club win there and in the final, then they will have successfully defended the trophy that they won last year.

Match results were as follows: Paul Arnold and Maurice Lawlor won 4 up, Blair Rule and Bob Murray won 6 up, Mike Wilson and Arthur Vanderloo won 5 up, Richard Brown and Rafiq Rattansi won 2 up.
