Dipple and Conway Norfolk Alliance Division One

North Runcton (279-8 off 50 overs) had a winning draw with Dereham (210-7 off 50)

Dereham won the toss and put North Runcton into bat.

North Runcton opener G. Rawlings fell early for 7, while his opening partner M.Crisp scored a good 25. N.Freeman (101) batted at three and scored a superb century, which included 14 fours and one six. This innings was of the highest quality as Freeman continued his good form with the bat. Ben Coote came in and scored a quick fire 23. Harry Lankfer scored a brilliant 67, which added great impetus as he regularly found the boundaries. Tim Coote (17) and Ben Skipper (17*) scored quick runs at the end to ensure North Runcton ended on a good score of 279.

In reply Dereham got off to a flyer as they scored 68 runs in the first 12 overs, for only the loss of one wicket. It took the bowling of Mike Annakin and Josh Ring to slow down the run rate, both showing great control, with Annakin finishing with figures of 42-1 off 10 overs and Ring only conceding 26 off his 13 overs.

After this early burst it became apparent that Dereham were happy to finish with a losing draw. North Runcton managed to capture seven Dereham wickets largely down to Skipper taking three and Lankfer two. Eventually Dereham finished on 210-7, 80 runs shy of their target.
