Peter Scott from Dersingham won the British Over 60s racketball title last weekend at the national championships which were held at Edgbaston Priory Squash Club in Birmingham.

There are age group categories from O35s upwards as well as the main events for both men and women.

Scott has been a long standing member of West Norfolk SC and played 1st team squash for them for many years in the Norfolk leagues as well as playing for Norfolk in various age groups from 35 upwards.

He added: “A friend of mine from Norwich, John Cordeaux, was also successful in winning the O55s title, making it a Norfolk double.”

Racketball is played on a squash court with very similar rules but with a slightly larger racket and ball which is therefore bouncier and more difficult to ‘kill’. It is regarded as one of the fastest growing sports in the country.
