The seventh annual Extra Hands Medal took place at Heacham Manor Golf Club with dry, good golfing conditions.
Sponsored by Heacham Manor member David Evans’s company, Extra Hands of Heacham, who provide high quality care for people living in their own homes, the event was a great success.
Extra Hands had kindly provided impressive trophies and prizes for mens and ladies for the first three places as well as a nearest the pin and longest drive for men and ladies. The competitors also enjoyed a meal after the round in Heacham Manor’s Mulberry Restaurant courtesy of Extra Hands.
The top four men all shot net level par or better. Just missing out on prizes, John Eaton was pushed into fourth place on countback by John Shackloth who took third with net 72. Junior Calum Butress shot a net 70 and took second, however winner Craig Drewery pushed ahead by one shot, shooting net 69.
The ladies competition was also a tight run event with countback for third and fourth. On net 74 junior Ella Mason was pushed into fourth place and Pauline Ring took third. Countback also occurred for first place with Tina Cribb taking victory over Julie Reeves, both scoring a net 72.
The winners will also have a tree planted on the course with a commemorative plaque, and already after six years of competitions an Extra Hands copse is establishing itself on the golf course.
