As winter looms and the golf season slowly comes to an end, Heacham Manor held their inaugural Pro Invitational which saw 10 PGA professionals descend onto the course.
Every Professional teamed up with three members in an intense but fun day.
With the format being best two scores counting out of four, there was little room for error. This was not aided by the howling winds on the fairways.
However players’ attitudes remained upbeat and scoring proved that.
The team in top spot changed several times with the eventual winning team being tournament host Paul Searle, Vicky Searle, Steve Duffety and team Professional James Taverner with a stableford score of 87 points. Heacham Manor’s own head Professional Ray Stocker and his team, scoring 82 points, were locked into a three-way battle for second with Andrew Robinson and his squad, however beating them to second on countback was Heacham Manor captain Aaron Daly, Leon Espley, Nick Searle and Pro Danny Poulter.
Stocker later said: “Feedback from all the other Professionals was positive and with the course being in fantastic condition they are all looking forward to coming back next year.”
