On Sunday the U10 boys and girls from Pelicans Hockey Club played some fantastic hockey in the Alex Hill tournament at Dereham.

In the morning the U10 girls produced some of the best hockey they have played all season. The outcome rested on the final game against Norwich City; the hard fought match ended in the team’s only defeat but the girls secured second place. It was an excellent team effort but there were notable performances from Rebekah Clough in goal and Amelie Beck who was almost unstoppable when attacking.

Squad: Rebekah Clough, Evie Jackson, Megan Antliff, Gracie-Mae Meek, Amelie Beck, Jessica Beck, Hannah Howes, Maddy Skerry and Aggie Ridgway.

In the afternoon the U10 boys carried on where the girls had left off. A very strong first match against Norwich City ended in a 0-0 draw and things got better and better with some excellent team performance and a flurry of goals from Harry Fountain.

The outcome was again left to the last game and after some excellent defending from Alex Burt and George Lake another draw against Watton meant the U10 boys had matched the girls with second place.

Squad: Jake Horn, Alex Burt, George Lake, Barney Ridgway, Harry Fountain, Ethan Bagshaw, Will Saunders.
