The start of the Winter Team Tennis leagues started at Easton College over the last two weeks with teams from Norfolk and Suffolk battling it out for the top spot.

King Edward VII Academy (KES) Community Tennis Centre was well represented again this year fielding strong teams in all age categories.

The Mini Orange Under 9 team were all playing at this level for the first time. Despite being in a very tough group the team managed a number of wins and achieved a bronze medal in third place.

The Mini Red U8 team are all developing their skills at the West Norfolk Tennis Academy under the watchful eye of head coach, Ashley Swift.

“We have always been very strong in this age group and have fielded four teams in the past with the Eagles gaining promotion to the top division last year,” he said.

For the first round KES took two teams. Kestrels were very young in comparison to the other teams, but yet again they surpassed all expectations by winning bronze. It was the first time that some of these children were competing at this level. Eagles won the Division Two title with 24 wins out of 28.

All the players have worked really hard during the summer and have now gone into their winter training period every week with the same commitment and passion.

The coaching team at KES would like to thank all the parents and friends who support the teams.
