Four local clubs at New King’s Lynn RPC, Gaywood, Clenchwarton and Wereham had their birds returned to the clubs on Saturday evening from Newbury.
The previous week, local clubs once again did well when 10 clubs sent 1,284 birds to Portland on the Isle of Wight with the Fens Federation.
Rodney Cochrane topped the Fed with his Wereham birds. Close behind Rodney’s winner was a Kim Peacock and Bernie Byrne bird with their New Lynn RPC winner, followed by a Timmy Simper bird in third. Ken Jolly was 16th with his Clenchwarton winner and in 20th position was Her Majesty the Queen.
Clenchwarton (North) had to wait until Monday before their birds were released at Fraserburgh in Scotland. Heacham’s Pete and Scott Garwood won the first two positions when eight members sent 87 birds.
Result: 1, 2 Peter and Scott Garwood, 1248, 1243; 3, 5 Ted and Sandra Scott, 1213, 1197; 4 Gerry Knights & Sons, 1199; 6 Her Majesty the Queen, 1180.
