IBA Ltd KLTTA week 28

There were two games played in the Premier Barrett Doubles competition this week.

A depleted Wisbech side of Jerry Irving, Rob Rix and David Whitby put up a good fight against a Wisbech Wizards side of Brett Heppenstall, Grant Brighty and Alan Ashberry.

The final score of 7-2 to Wizards could have been much closer with several games going the full distance.

Topspynn and Avengers were also in action and this game went with the form book. Topspynn had Ross Brown, Richard Johnson and Karl Brown against Don Dixon, Richard Mussett and Jim Defty.

The final result was 6-3 to Topspynn but the result could have been very different as Avengers won only one out of five of the matches which went to five ends.

Wayne Mason of Pegg Scaffolding was voted Premier Division player of the month for March.

The Dove Workshop Challenge Cup Semi-Final had Ziggys matched against fellow Premier team Pegg Scaffolding. Gary Hewitt, Allan Nicholls and John Blyth just held on against Wayne Mason, Martin Skipper and Peter Pegg.

The match went to the very last game which ended 5-4 and saw Ziggys progress to the final.

The Pegg Scaffolding Handicap Cup Semi-Final had Premier leaders Topspynn against Division One Pauls Driving School.

In a very close match it was Karl Brown, Richard Johnson and Ross Brown who overcome the handicap to win 413-398 against Phil Brown, Paul Barrett and Ashley Starling.

Topspynn will play Division One Spin Doctors in the final who overcame Heacham A in the other semi-final.

Just a couple of catch up games in Division One this week.

Leigh McDonald, Mick Ruffles and Melissa McDonald represented Heacham A against Runcton Holme B.

Despite some four and five-enders the Runcton team of Clive Sandle, Carol Parker and Bryan Parsons failed to score.

Heacham did themselves a real favour leapfrogging Pauls Driving School, Runcton Holme and Wasps 2 to move into fifth place.

Heacham also featured in a close Barrett Doubles match against Swaffham Terriers.

The Terriers had Peter Fysh, Keith Richardson and Peter Nunn in fine form with three five-enders and two four-enders during the match.

David Woolley, Leigh McDonald and Christine Woolley just hung on for the win 5-4.

John Mingay of Runcton Holme was voted Division One Player of the Month for March.
