Students from the Mark Farnham Schools in Lynn have passed their gradings at their Providence Street base.

Gradings are held on Sundays and start with a one-hour training session where the student runs through the requirements for their grading, and then they take part in their grading session.

More than 120 students from the school attended the three gradings on the day, with some children as young as four taking part.

This also included five black belt juniors taking star gradings, which are levels of competence within the 1st Dan black belt grade.

The school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and all students passed with good grades, the examiner being Master Ron Sergiew, 8th Dan.

This year’s success took the total to more than 12,300 students passing colour belt gradings with the schools in the last 28 years.

Students receive their grades and belts at presentations at their own individual schools.

Successful Lynn students were as follows.

Black Stripe (1st Kup): Jonathan Mendes A pass.

Red Belt (2nd Kup): Andrew Fitzgerald.

Blue Belt (4th Kup): Ryan Kirby A pass, Isabelle Scott, Oliver Sparks, William Tuck.

Green Belt (6th Kup): Spencer Dawes, Arminas Janulionis, Poppy Riley.

Green Stripe (7th Kup): Akvile Jonusaite, Viktorija Kozlouskaja, Kasandra Kozyreva A pass.

Yellow Belt (8th Kup): Daniel Lavrenov, Loreta Paliakaite, Deirunas Teiserskis, Brittany Wheeler.

Yellow Stripe (9th Kup): Kiril Kurak, Ryan Mattocks, Gvidas Norvilas, Jasmine Triadi.

Well done to all of those students taking part in the latest gradings.
