King’s Lynn Roller Hockey Club player Matthew Baker has been selected to play for the under 17 England team ahead of the European Championships, which are being held in Luso, Portugal later this year.

Baker, 15 years-old from Springwood High School, has been given an intense preparation plan from national coach Carlos Amaral before the major championships.

Baker loves all sports but his passion is roller hockey which he has been playing for eight years with Lynn Roller Hockey Club, as well as on Friday club night training at Alive Lynnsport.

Baker trains with the Lynn premier team and Eastern Counties and national teams.

With there being no official funding, Matthew is looking for a sponsor to help with the cost. Anyone who might be able to help with flights, kit or training costs should contact Matthew at:

Matthew would like to thank Chris Kay, Andy Horn and Andy Robinson, his volunteer coaches at the Lynn club, for all their support.
