The Williams athlete brothers from West Norfolk AC took part in the National Championships in Sheffield this weekend.

On the first day Charlie ran his under-17 60m heat in 7.78secs, his best time this year – his personal best is 7.68.

Alfie ran his U15 60m heat in 8.14, a new PB (previously 8.19).

On day two, Alfie won bronze in U15 Shot in the morning with a new PB of 11.41m. Alfie ran 60m hurdles in the afternoon just a fraction short of his PB in 9.92.

Alfie was nervous in his first England Athletics National Championships, but when he calmed down in the Shot he started to find his range. He is improving all the time.

Charlie was happy to be able to compete as a first year U17 in an event he has not really been training for and after suffering with a chest infection for a month or so. He will improve and is determined to be running the 400m at that event next year.

Alfie will be competing in the Pentathlon at The England Athletics National Combined events champs back at Sheffield on the weekend of March 11 and 12.
