Max Rossiter from Happidojo Marham Judo Club managed to successfully gain his Yellow Belt (5th Kyu).

Max has only been doing judo for a relatively small time, approximately four months, but has impressed head coach Colin McCallum (2nd Dan) with his commitment and willingness to train hard; even managing to compete in two competitions, gaining bronze both times.

The second competition was even more remarkable as Max had to compete against a 1st Kyu (Brown Belt) and a 4th Dan and 5th Dan (Black Belts) and although he lost to these competitors, he showed true grit and determination.

Max took part in The Yellow Belt Challenge, which is run through The Fighting Chance Project. Both Happidojo Clubs at Marham and Iceni Academy are signed up.

It encourages 11-25 year olds to give judo a go, and try to reach their Yellow Belt (4th Mon for juniors and 5th Kyu for seniors).

The benefits include a free session, 12 months’ free membership to the British Judo Association, a signed autograph card of a British Judo 2012 Olympian, and a free judo suit.
