Ladies captain Elaine Calvert hosted an amazing day of golf at Middleton Hall Golf Club Ladies Captain’s Day.

Cath Metcalfe won the Ladies competition with a score of 42 Stableford points and also shot an eagle on the par 4 18th hole.

Pat Webb was second and Lucy Partridge third.

Chris Hudson won the men’s competition also with 42 points, Kieran Jeavons was second and Craig Hazelhurst-Jeavons third.

Best front 9 for the Ladies was Soo Khoo and best back 9 Kiem Byrne who beat Debbie Hemeter on count back. Lady nearest the pin on 4th was Brenda Seller and man was Bob Gamble. Lady nearest the pin on 11th was Marie Brewer and man was Bob Consitt.

Monday saw the 11th playing of the Tony Horne Cup at Middleton Hall Golf Club.

The Stableford event, open to both men and lady members of the senior section, is played in memory of Tony who was a senior member of the club. Flora, his widow, donated the trophies and presented them to winners Richard Bromley and Pat Hoban along with seniors captain Chris Hudson (pictured right).

Barry Fox: 37, 3 Paul Rushbrook 36; 17 played. Div 2: 1 Richard Bromley 41, 2 Mike Calvert 37, 3 Chris Shipp 36; 31 played.

Seniors Section, Middleton Hall v Heacham Manor 20.07.16: Bob Gamble/ John Burdett v Dennis Snell/ Tony O’Connell won 4&3, Tony Read/ Stephen Thompson v Brian Taylor/ Nick Bowman won 2&1, John O’Neil/ Jan Holstead v Mike Smith/ Gary Gardner won 4&3, Robin Burton/ Colin Preston v Steve Eadie/ Chris Watson won 5&4, Mike Anstey/ Jim Hudson v John Steel/ Reg Ransome match halved, Richard Bromley/ Chris Shipp v Evan Kemp John/ Fletcher lost 2&1.

Result: Middleton Hall won 4.5 to 1.5.
