Three Ryston Runners juniors represented Norfolk on Saturday in the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Biggleswade.
First to run were Charlie Wakefield and Bailey Took (U13).
After a steady start, Charlie ran perhaps one of his finest races to date with a well deserved 15th place. Charlie was first Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire runner home which stands him in good stead for future National Championships.
His time was 10.07 for the 3000 metre undulating course. Bailey had a good run to finish in 78th and was third Norfolk runner home after a very close battle with the second placed Norfolk team member from Norwich. He ran a commendable 11.13.
Annie Rooks (pictured) ran a well judged and fast paced 5000m to come home in 48th place with a superb time of 19.39.
Kate Willis was also chosen for Norfolk but was unable to run.
All four are now looking forward to the National Cross Country Championships in Birmingham representing Norfolk after last week’s qualification at the County Championships.
