New beginners’ championship at King’s Lynn

The King’s Lynn Golf Club Junior Championship took place with the girls playing on the same day as the boys together with a new championship for beginners.

The results are as follows:



Boys – Harcourt Cup (scratch): winner Ashley Johnson gross 76, Mat Chapman 79, Macsen Heath 80, Kale Heath 82, Josh Simpson 83.

Cleary Shield (handicap): winner Josh Simpson nett 71, Ashley Johnson 72, Macsen Heath 72, Matt Chapman 73, Tom Davis nett 74.

Girls – Peggy Joplin Trophy: winner Jessica Key. Deptford Dish – most improved girl: Ellen Skerritt.

KLGC Beginners Championship: winner Jack Smith, runner-up Calin Roser.

Putting competition: girls Morgan Wilkin and boys Jack Smith.

The junior presentation evening will be on November 13.

The presentation evening for the club is always held at the end of the main golfing season and this year the cups and trophies were announced by the general manager, Richard Jessop, and presented by the club captain, David Lawman, and ladies captain, Pat Arnold.

The winners received their cups and trophies together with a memento for them to keep.
