Norwich triumph sets King’s Lynn United up for Superleague title

Norfolk Super league Darts

King’s Lynn United were hosts to Norwich on Sunday in their top of the league clash.

United Men won 5-2. First on, MoM Steve Carrett with a 28.36 average (2x100, 3x140,121,123) won 3-0, followed by Brian Goffart (6x100, 2x140, 105 game shot) winning 3-1.

Roger Berney’s (2x100, 132, 131, 180) 3-1 win put United 3-0 ahead.

Other results: Ady Johnson (100, 130, 140, 139, 112) lost 1-3 to Paul Daniels, MoM for Norwich; Craig Venman (4x100, 3x140, 125) won 3-0 to secure the win; Ian King (7x100, 2x140, 135) lost 2-3 to Robbie Ellis who hit 180 1st leg; Pat Dix (4x100, 123, 121, 137, 140, 180) won 3-2 from Kevin Ruddling who hit 126 shot out to take Pat to a deciding leg, won by Pat, resulting in a convincing 5-2 win for United.

Ladies drew 2-2: Alison Ransom LoM 18.33av (100, 137, 140) won 3-0; Shirley Carrett (81 shot out & 108 shot out) won 3-0.

United are away to Wymondham on Sunday, April 9 to play their final fixture in the 2016/17 league. Now with an impregnable lead, Lynn United expect to emerge as champions.

l The King’s Lynn Super League team entertained Wymondham on Sunday.

Despite some good darts from the ladies, especially Bryony Fisher (18.45) the team were beaten 4-0.

The men fared better, leading 1-0 with a win from MoM Mark Easter (24.39), they were eventually beaten 4-3. Other winners were Andrew Belton and Kevin Bird.

Next game on Sunday is away at Norwich starting approximately 6.45pm, with transport leaving RBL at 5pm.

The match is starting later to allow county players time to travel from Attleborough.
