Watlington Junior Badminton club held its last session before the summer break.
The club merged the two regular groups, with a total of 28 children coming along for the full two hours, playing fun games and mini matches.
Over the past eight weeks coaches Janis Baker and Emma Littler have run two club competitions for the children, one in the first session which is for primary school children, the other session for secondary school children.
In the primary school competition, 14 pupils took part, and the semi-final results were: Alfie Cox, 9, beat 10-year-old Lucy Armstrong 15-10 and Lily Rolfe, also 9, beat 11-year-old Gracie Leggett 15-8. In the final Lily beat Alfie by 15-6.
The older children, most from Downham High School, also played a competition with 18 entered in three groups with the winner and highest runner-up going through to the semis.
Katie Hitkin, 12, beat 13-year-old Elliot McDonald 15-14 and Charlie Merritt, 11, beat Callum McDonald, also aged 11, by 15-14. In the final Charlie beat Katie by 15-11.
A trophy presentation was made to the winners and runners-up in both competitions. The coaches also made presentations to the most improved player in each session, based on attitude, enthusiasm towards learning, attendance and improvement over the season.
Olivia Merritt, 10, from Watlington Primary School won the award in the first group and Shania Castle, 12, from Downham High School won in the second.
