Ryston Runners pair Pyatts love to shine at Valentine’s 10K run

Nearly a dozen Ryston Runners abandoned all ideas of romantic lie-ins and took to the roads around Easton for the Valentines 10K race.

The chilly, hilly course, in windy conditions tested the mettle of all participants, but still yielded a few PB times and some trophies.

In the spirit of the day it was couple Matt and Lisa Pyatt who collected the “bling” for Ryston, with Matt, in his first road race for several weeks, placing second overall in 34:14, while Lisa clocked 45:48 to take the honours in the W35 category.

Jane Ashby went home with the award for placing second in the W60.

Club secretary Richard Dickson notched up a new PB time of 41:31 in 54th place overall, 11th M40, and Lorena Latisaite, despite being just outside the prize list in the SW category (4th/60th overall) improved her best time to 41:50.

Darren Easter (40:37) and Neil Stapleton (41:41) placed seventh and 13th respectively in the M40 category.

Keith Morris clocked 50:37 to finish just inside the first 200 out of a field of 430. Sarah Partridge (56:05/288th), Martin Blackburn (60:07/340th) and Sue Smith (69:56/412) completed the Ryston effort; plus second claim member Danny Rock (PB/34:47/fourth).
