An epic trip took place this weekend when 20 students from Smithdon High School in Hunstanton travelled to Court No. 1 at Wimbledon.
The party witnessed some amazing and inspiring matches at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, including the Girls’ Final and Heather Watson winning her mixed semi-final.
Watson followed marvellous Andy Murray, who took his second Men’s Singles crown after beating Milos Raonic inthe final, by winning a title for Great Britain.
Watson now holds the Mixed Doubles title at the 2016 Wimbledon Championships with partner Henri Kontinen.
Thanks go to Mrs Barnham, Mrs Stewart, Miss Wright and Mrs Bower for accompanying the students who were a real credit to the school.
Meanwhile, Hunstanton Primary School have been awarded Gold School Games Mark in recognition of the PE and sport offered at the School.
The Gold standard also recognises the amount of Inter school competition offered this year and the number of opportunities for Sports Leaders.
